For agents
Paste your error, get the known fix, and let your agent do the pasting. Everything on this site is also plain files: a static JSON API, a markdown context pack per harness, and llms.txt. Nothing to install and nothing to send anywhere. Your agent fetches the files and does the matching itself. It covers 14 harnesses.
Pick the harnesses your agent uses
The URLs, the context-pack bundle and the agent rule below are generated for just these. Fewer harnesses means less to download and less context. This starts from the harness selection you made in the paste box on the home page.
1. Static JSON API
Plain files rebuilt nightly. Every file carries schema_version (currently 1) and generated_at. To save bandwidth, fetch only your harnesses' files:
/api/index.json
/api/status.json
/api/issues/<slug>.json
/api/index.json: harness list (with status), counts and endpoints/api/status.json: status, its basis and thresholds;/api/history.json: daily open-issue counts/api/issues.json: every tracked issue in one file (681 KB)/llms.txt: an index for LLMs
Each issue carries title, url, state, severity (an automatic estimate, with severity_reasons), versions and error_snippets. When the issue or one of its comments states a fix, it also carries a quoted workaround and a fixed_in version, each with the link it was quoted from.
2. Context packs
Compact markdown for each harness covering top active issues, symptom, versions mentioned, error line and workaround. Paste it into an agent's context or drop it into CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md. The bundle joins the packs for your selection:
curl -s https://knownfix.ai/context/<slug>.md > knownfix-context.md

3. Tell your agent when to use it
Add this to AGENTS.md, CLAUDE.md or your Hermes system prompt. It names the files for your selection:
When a CLI, harness, MCP server or build prints an error, check KnownFix BEFORE trying fixes:
1. Fetch https://knownfix.ai/api/issues/<slug>.json for the harness you are running in.
2. Find issues whose error_snippets or title match the error text.
3. If a match has a quoted workaround, apply it and cite the issue url. If it has fixed_in, say so.
Before upgrading a harness, list the issues in that file whose versions or title mention the target version.
Ground rules
- Workarounds and "fixed in" versions are quoted from the issue or its comments, with a link. They are never generated. Check the source before running anything.
- Severity is an automatic estimate, not a vendor rating. Status combines official status pages with an issue-spike heuristic; the explanation says which.
- Matching on this site is lexical (BM25 + sequence matching) and runs in the browser. Treat a low-confidence match as a lead, not an answer.
